Mundomar

Mundomar opened in 1996 next to the Aqualandia water park, with which it shares a car park and belongs to the same group, the Fundación Aqualandia-Mundomar. The park brings together more than 80 species of marine and exotic animals, including sea lions, bottlenose dolphins, penguins and parrots, housed across different areas designed for both observation and daily shows with professional trainers.

Alongside the scheduled shows, Mundomar offers close-contact dolphin experiences for visitors who want to get nearer to the animals. The park stays open from February to December, closing only through the coldest stretch of winter.

A lesser-known social programme

Since 2001, the Fundación Aqualandia-Mundomar has run a free dolphin-assisted therapy programme for children with physical or mental disabilities; more than 4,000 children with different conditions have taken part since it began. It's a less visible side of the park than its shows, but one that has been running for more than two decades.
