Muchavista beach runs for more than three kilometres along the coast of El Campello, with an average width of about eighty metres of fine sand. It is one of the best-known beaches in the northern part of Alicante province and has held Blue Flag status since 1993 for its water quality and facilities.

A beach with a tram running alongside

A pedestrian promenade runs the full length of the beach next to the TRAM line that connects Alicante with El Campello and other coastal towns, making it possible to arrive without a car and step almost straight onto the sand. To the south, Muchavista merges without any break into San Juan beach, forming a continuous stretch of sand several kilometres long shared between the two municipalities.

Besides the Blue Flag, it holds an eco-beach certification for its water quality and environmental management, a distinction it shares with the neighbouring Carrer la Mar beach.

It is an urban, family-friendly beach, with accessible entry points and plenty of bars and restaurants along the promenade, suited both to a quiet swim and to long walks outside the summer season. The tram link also makes it one of the best beaches for anyone staying in Alicante city who wants a different option without needing a car.

Summer brings the biggest crowds, but the beach and its promenade work just as well in spring and autumn for walking or running by the sea. It combines well with a visit to the nearby Illeta dels Banyets site or the Paseo del Mar, near the harbour.
