Rascacielos InTempo
The InTempo skyscraper measures 202.5 meters in height with 47 floors. Completed in 2021, it stands out for its unique geometric structure: two parallel towers joined by an inverted cone at 150 meters. Visible from across the city, it is a landmark of the current skyline.
The InTempo skyscraper rises 202.5 metres over Benidorm across 47 floors, making it the tallest residential building in the European Union and the fifth-tallest in Spain, behind only Madrid's Cuatro Torres complex. Construction began in 2007 and wasn't finished until 2021, fourteen years later, after the original builder went bankrupt in 2009, a change of architect, and a complicated financial restructuring that passed through Sareb, Spain's so-called bad bank.
Two towers and an inverted cone
The building's most striking feature is structural: two straight towers, set about twenty metres apart, are joined by an inverted elliptical cone positioned 150 metres up, an unusual engineering solution that required solving calculations rarely seen in a residential building. The resulting silhouette is visible from much of Benidorm's bay and has become a landmark of the city's current skyline, a sharp contrast to the first skyscrapers built here in the 1960s.
InTempo can be seen up close from the seafront promenade, or admired from a distance alongside the rest of the city's skyline, visible from viewpoints such as the Balcón del Mediterráneo or the Cruz de Benidorm. The building is residential and has no public tours or observation deck, so the experience is limited to viewing it from outside or from these elevated points around the city.
